As we enter October, we recognize Breast Cancer Awareness Month, a time to reflect on the ongoing battle against breast cancer and to unite in support of those affected. At Ingalls, we stand strong in this fight, not only through words but through action.
Breast cancer affects millions of lives worldwide, and raising awareness is crucial in driving early detection and supporting research for a cure. This month offers us a chance to educate ourselves and others, spread knowledge, and promote the importance of screenings, support services and treatments.
Ingalls Shipbuilding is committed to making a difference in the fight against breast cancer through both awareness and action. Here’s how you can get involved:
1. Breast Cancer Awareness Event hosted by WISE
Date: Thursday, October 10
Location: CSA III
Time: 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
This event will feature resources and discussions on breast cancer awareness, the importance of early detection, and overall health and wellness.
Together, we can drive change, support research and raise awareness in our community. Every step we take brings us closer to a world without breast cancer.
Manager-approved flex, lunch or PTO must be used to attend this event.
2. Breast Cancer Awareness Walk
Date: Saturday, October 19
Time: Event starts at 9 a.m. (Check-in begins at 8 a.m.)
Location: Highway 613 Bridge in Moss Point
Visit our booth: Stop by our Ingalls booth during the walk to connect with other shipbuilders and learn more about how you can continue to make a difference throughout the month.
Fundraising: Support the cause through upcoming fundraisers. Keep an eye out for exciting opportunities like the Crumbl Cookies fundraiser later this month. All proceeds go directly to breast cancer research and support services, helping us make a tangible impact.
