Ingalls Shipbuilding partnered with the American Cancer Society to sponsor the 2024 Shuck Cancer Event. This event raised funds for transportation grants and for Hope Lodge, a hotel where cancer patients who are receiving treatment can stay at no cost.

Singing River Health System and Memorial Hospital Foundation were awarded checks to distribute funds to families for transportation to and from treatments and/or financial help with lodging.

“We are thankful for those in attendance for their donations and we are proud as a company to be able to support such a worthy organization,” said Carrie Cuevas, Community Relations & Engagement Specialist. “This event and the American Cancer Society not only helps provide for our shipbuilders and their families when needed, but for the gulf coast as a whole.”

A groundbreaking initiative led by the American Cancer Society is calling on Black women between the ages of 25-55 from all walks of life who live in 20 particular states, especially in the southeast, to join a 30-year study. Your voice could be the key to changing lives forever.

This change can directly improve health for generations to come. This initiative isn’t just a study; it’s a collective commitment to understanding and improving the health of Black women across the nation.
