Preparing for heat

People who work in the heat become adjusted to it. If you’re not used to heat conditions, you may need time to adjust.

One way to prepare is drinking lots of water throughout the day. Operations is having in-yard water distribution TODAY and throughout the summer to ensure shipbuilders are properly hydrating.

Having enough water is an essential factor when working in high temperatures. To prevent dehydration (loss of fluids) drink at least eight ounces of cold non-caffeinated fluid every 15 to 20 minutes to replenish fluid loss.
