Shipbuilders who joined the Professional Development Series session, “Engage with Purpose: How We Make an Impact Together,” where Lisa Bradley, manager of Stakeholder Engagement, walked through how community involvement directly strengthens the places where shipbuilders live and work. The session highlighted how Ingalls’ outreach efforts enhance quality of life across the Gulf Coast and how these initiatives support the workforce behind shipbuilding.
“The professional development session gave me a fresh perspective on how my day‑to‑day actions contribute to the bigger picture at Ingalls,” said Jonathan Roach, Logistics Engineer. “I left feeling more motivated and more aware of how intentional engagement can strengthen our teamwork and overall impact.”
Lisa also invited shipbuilders to share personal stories of how Ingalls were able to support them in times of need. This included hearing Dr. Tee McCovey from the United Way of Jackson, George and Greene Counties, show attendees meaningful ways to get involved and make a positive impact.
“The shipbuilders’ vulnerability and willingness to share their experience showed how much our engagement can mean to others and the lasting impact of showing up for one another,” said Demetria Hudson, manager, Socio-Economic Business Program. “I left with a deeper appreciation for the people and collective efforts that contribute to the shipbuilding experience, along with a better understanding of how I can get involved and do more.”
