Career development is a vital part of Ingalls Shipbuilding. Through the Career Counseling Program, Ingalls empowers every shipbuilder with the resources, guidance and personalized support needed to strengthen their skills and pursue long-term growth.
Financial Analyst Ciara Clark credits the program for helping her discover her career direction, invest in herself and confidently advance to the next step in her professional journey. Ciara was promoted from Accountant to Financial Analyst just six months after beginning career counseling.
“Kimberly Johnson, Ingalls Career Counselor, helped me invest in myself, identify my strengths, and receive guidance on which jobs to apply for,” said Ciara. “I am now pursuing a Master of Business Administration degree, and within six months of career counseling, I was promoted to Financial Analyst.”
Ciara has taken full advantage of the opportunities and development tools available at Ingalls. She is currently participating in Legacy Builders, completing Dale Carnegie, pursuing additional degrees, and working on her positive exposure through networking and leadership growth.
“Ingalls provides a variety of resources to help advance my career,” said Ciara. “I found programs that aligned with my interests and allowed me to develop leadership skills, network with shipbuilders in various departments, and strengthen my character to exemplify our company values. These experiences helped me build meaningful relationships and develop skills important to my career.”
