Thank you to all the shipbuilders who kicked off this year’s Holiday Cheer Kickoff Event! This event brought an incredible spirit of generosity as shipbuilders rolled up their sleeves to prepare for the holiday activities that brighten communities across the Gulf Coast.
“Our shipbuilders are very generous with their time and caring about our community,” said Dana Patrick, community engagement specialist. “Giving back during the holiday season is important to our shipbuilders, so we are honored to provide opportunities for them to do so.”
Participants wrapped boxes for our annual toy drive, assembled materials for the Salvation Army Angel Tree, and helped organize items for angel adoption through the Gulf Coast Center for Nonviolence. Laughter, teamwork and simple acts of service filled the room as a perfect reminder of what this season is all about.
“I love giving back to others and bringing them joy any time of the year,” Shakenia McCallop Everett, production planner and scheduler. “Doing it during the holiday season just makes it extra special.”
