From the shipyard to the classroom, shipbuilders continue to grow! The Shipbuilder Academic Excellence Celebration recognized those who advanced their studies through the Education Assistance Program. The celebration included keynote speaker Marla Warner from Dale Carnegie, Michael Jordan from Belhaven University and Nathan Griffey from Mississippi State University.
“Because of the program, I was able to earn my Masters in Business Administration with an emphasis in Organizational Leadership,” Angel Chatman, Quality Analyst. “I am grateful for being a shipbuilder who not only has the opportunity to work in the shipyard but also gets to utilize education assistance.”
The Ingalls Education Assistance Program is dedicated to supporting shipbuilders in advancing their careers through higher education. By offering up to $5,250 per year, the program helps shipbuilders pursue college degrees, making it easier to achieve their professional goals.
“Investing in our people is investing in the strength of our shipyard,” said Sherry Joubert, Education Assistance Administrator. “Celebrating academic excellence demonstrates how continuous learning drives performance, strengthens our culture and ensures we are prepared to meet the needs of the warfighter."
