Organizational Announcement
I am pleased to announce that Brian McVey has been named Director of Emergency Operations and Security at Ingalls Shipbuilding.
In this role, Brian will advance the division’s security strategy and integrate key security disciplines, including physical security, access control, emergency and crisis management, industrial security, insider threat programs, business continuity and resumption, and National Industrial Security Program (NISP) compliance. He will serve as the principal security advisor to divisional leadership, translating complex risk environments into practical strategies that protect our people, facilities, information and mission success. Additionally, he will continue building trusted partnerships across the organization and with government and regulatory bodies.
With more than 23 years of leadership at Ingalls, Brian previously served as Director of Environmental, Health, Safety and Fire Prevention, where he led EHS efforts, as well as emergency management, crisis response and risk mitigation. Through this role and earlier leadership positions, he developed a deep understanding of the security, regulatory and operational demands of our shipbuilding programs.
Brian holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from Mississippi State University. He has also held a Law Enforcement Officer certification from the Mississippi Board of Law Enforcement Officer Standards and Training since 2015. His continued volunteer service with the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office as a Reserve Deputy further strengthens his qualifications for this position.
Please join me in congratulating Brian and supporting him as he transitions into this critical leadership role.
