Nick Knudsen joined Ingalls just over two years ago and quickly became a key player in Human Resources & Administration (HR&A). His behind-the-scenes work drives decisions across the shipyard. When the HR&A team voted in the first‑ever People’s Choice Awards, Nick never expected to hear his name — much less for the top honor. Being named the 2025 Most Valuable Player was a surprise that left him genuinely moved.
“I feel exceptional — really honored,” said Nick. “It’s great to be part of such a strong and amazing team. Being recognized by peers makes it even more meaningful.”
As a Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) Analyst, Nick handles system administration, reporting, and data integrity for HR&A while providing the recruitment and retention insights senior leadership needs to plan hiring, spot trends, and make informed decisions.
For Nick, the Ingalls mission is always front and center of his job. We need quality people to build quality ships. Nick describes working at Ingalls as the greatest years of his career.
“Without the people doing the jobs in the yard, we could not build the ships for the warfighters to do what they do,” said Nick. “I’m very glad and grateful to be part of the HR&A team, and I’m looking forward to continuing my impact with Ingalls.”
