Ingalls Shipbuilders volunteered at The Lord Is My Help in Ocean Springs – an Extra Table partner pantry – packing 120 meals for their Meals on Wheels program as a kickoff for Extra Table’s March of the Mayors event.
March of the Mayors is a month-long campaign to fight hunger across Mississippi, with each city collecting a different perishable food item. This year, Ingalls is partnering with our Jackson County mayors and cities to collect canned tuna and canned fruit – items that help keep families fed and healthy.
The main event happens March 6 at the Lyman Community Center in Gulfport, where volunteers, mayors, and community leaders will come together to pack thousands of meals for families in need.
