They recruit talent nationwide, guide shipbuilders through benefits, help develop current and future leaders, and step in when challenges arise. Day after day, the Human Resources & Administration (HR&A) team provides support to the mission of Ingalls delivering world‑class ships built for our warfighters. This year, that behind‑the‑scenes dedication took center stage at the first‑ever HR&A People’s Choice Awards —a red‑carpet celebration of the teammates who make our mission possible.
“HR&A touches every shipbuilder’s journey,” said Susan Jacobs, vice president, Human Resources & Administration. “This year felt special because the categories and winners were chosen entirely by peers.”
The team’s 2025 achievements were nothing short of remarkable: hiring and onboarding 3,500+ new shipbuilders, digitizing all active hire records, supporting Enterprise Payroll, and guiding shipbuilders through one‑on‑one benefits consultations. They trained new leaders, strengthened talent pipelines, and supported shipbuilders at every stage.
“Everyone in HR&A excelled in 2025,” said Susan. “We may not build the ships, but we help build the careers that make them possible.”
And now…the moment everyone’s been waiting for!
