As we prepare for the end of the year, please take note of these important reminders ahead of the holiday break.

HOLIDAY SCHEDULE
We will shut down normal operations after December 22, 2025, until January 5, 2026

The No-Drive Time for Friday, December 19, will be 11-11:15 a.m. for the partial craft workday. As always, use the designated crosswalks and pay close attention to your surroundings. Never use a cell phone or text while driving or walking inside the shipyard.

WORK REQUIREMENTS

Represented shipbuilders must work five (5) regular hours on December 19, and six (6) regular hours on Monday, January 5, in order to maintain their holiday pay.

Non-represented shipbuilders will work a full day as usual on December 19. Only those who have been pre-approved will be allowed to work during the shutdown.

PTO + TIMEKEEPING
PTO payments for the holiday shutdown will be paid on the paycheck dated December 18 for shipbuilders who put in holiday PTO requests before the deadline. Any requests for assistance must be made directly to Payroll.

Complete and accept your time records for the week ending December 21 prior to leaving for the holiday break. Salaried shipbuilders scheduled to work during the shutdown should only record the actual time they work, not PTO. Craft shipbuilders scheduled to work over the shutdown will record their time in START. During shutdown, no action is required for shipbuilders who are not working.

BEFORE YOU GO

Remove all perishable foods from your workspace and refrigerator. Power will be shut down during the break.

Devices that use heating coils should be turned off and unplugged while shipbuilders are out for the shutdown period, including coffee pots, microwaves, toasters and space heaters. For concerns, call Facilities at ext. 2400.

HOLIDAY EVENTS + CELEBRATIONS

As a reminder, holiday event celebrations and meals are NOT reimbursable business expenses in accordance with Ingalls policy. For questions or additional information, please contact the Travel Accounting Help Desk at (228) 935-3231 in advance of making an expenditure to ensure you do not incur an unexpected non-reimbursable expense.
