Shipbuilders are working towards growing their careers at Ingalls after completing the inaugural Crafted to Lead program. This eight-week course aims to equip shipbuilders with the skills, mindset and confidence to step into leadership.

Hands-On Leadership: From communication to accountability, expectations to culture, the course focuses on the practical skills shipbuilders need to lead teams and build trust in the shipyard. Each participant also completed a capstone project showing how they’ll apply these lessons in their current role.

Proud Graduates: Please join us in congratulating the following shipbuilders on completing this course:

  • Sidney Arnold, Inside Machinist Work Leaderman

  • Joseph Charboneau, Shipfitter (Combination)

  • Kyle Creel, Pipefitter

  • Ralph Fisk, Burner Carbon Arc Gouger

  • Robert Johnson

  • John Mattina, Electrician (A)

  • Randall Moilanen, Sheetmetal Work Leaderman

  • Edward Overstreet, Pipefitter (Silver Brazer)

  • Willie Thompson, Joiner Work Leaderman

  • Charlotte Warlick, Electrical Foreman

Why It Matters: Leadership is more than a title. It’s earning trust, living our values and doing what’s right for your team and the mission. Crafted to Lead lays that foundation before taking on a supervisory role.

Next Steps: Building on the success of the first session, plans are already underway to offer additional cohorts in the coming year. Keep an eye on the IngallsConnect App for details!
