Take a look back at highlights from the christening of the future USS Jeremiah Denton (DDG 129), held June 28 at Ingalls. The ceremony was attended by many honored guests, including shipbuilders and their loved ones, members of the Denton family, Navy officials and elected dignitaries, and retirees from the U.S. Armed Forces Retirement home.

DDG 129 is the third Flight III Arleigh Burke-class destroyer to be built at Ingalls. It’s equipped with advanced technology designed to ensure the U.S. Navy remains prepared for next-generation threats. Among its key features are the AN/SPY-6(V)1 Air and Missile Defense Radar and the Aegis Baseline 10 Combat System, both of which significantly enhance the ship’s warfighting capabilities. These systems collectively represent the cutting edge of naval defense technology.

In addition to DDG 129, Ingalls currently has four Flight III destroyers under construction –  Ted Stevens (DDG 128), George M. Neal (DDG 131), Sam Nunn (DDG 133), and Thad Cochran (DDG 135) – and an additional nine destroyers under contract.
