Have You Completed Dependent Reverification?
TAKE ACTION BY JUNE 13 to avoid losing coverage for your dependents!
To ensure only eligible dependents are enrolled in health plans, all newly-enrolled dependents are subject to initial verification. Some dependents are subject to an annual re-verification process.
It is important to provide requested documentation verifying eligibility by the stated deadline to avoid losing coverage for your dependents. You can learn more about the dependent verification process on the HII Benefits website at www.hiibenefits.com
First-Time Verification
Employees enrolling dependents in coverage for the first time, either through Annual Enrollment or a qualifying life event, such as marriage or birth of a child, are required to provide documentation verifying eligibility. Notices are mailed within 45 days of initial enrollment/eligibility.
If you do not provide the required documentation, your dependents will lose coverage effective back to the date they were initially enrolled for coverage.
NOTE: Dependent verification notices for dependents added for the first time during Annual Enrollment will be mailed mid-July.
Annual Dependent Re-Verification
Some dependents, such as spouses and non-biological children, must be verified annually each spring. Dependent re-verification notices were distributed in April stating documentation is due Friday, June 13.
If you do not provide appropriate documentation by June 13, your dependents will lose coverage on June 30.
Take Action
To review your dependent verification status and correspondence, log in to your Alight Worklife account and access the Dependent Verification portal. Look for “To Send Dependent Verification Documents” in Quick Actions or check your To-Dos tab, which is located in your Notifications folder. Follow the directions stated in your notification to submit the appropriate documentation.
Documentation may be submitted via fax, mail or uploaded through the Dependent Verification Portal.
