Ingalls is charting a bold course for the future, and in this episode of the Inside Ingalls podcast, we sit down with Ingalls President Brian Blanchette to reflect on his journey at the shipyard and discuss what lies ahead in 2025 and beyond.
Brian’s journey began in Rhode Island, where he grew up with a love for ships. Since joining Ingalls in 1996, he has worked in various roles across multiple departments. Over the years, he’s witnessed the yard grow and evolve, but what stands out most to him is the dedication of the people who make Ingalls great.
“Ingalls is special because of its people — their commitment to the mission and pride in their work,” Brian shared. “We’ve been through a lot, from rebuilding after Hurricane Katrina to bringing the USS Cole back into service. But the focus now is on the future.”
With a strong backlog of work, including multiple destroyers and amphibious ships, Brian sees Ingalls in a prime position for continued success. His goal is to lead with a focus on continuous improvement and to mentor the next generation of shipbuilders.
“We have the opportunity to influence the future of skilled labor in this country and inspire a new generation to join us,” Brian said.
