Mentoring is a crucial part of the shipbuilding process. It’s a powerful way to pass along knowledge, contributing to our world-class legacy.

Legacy Builders was launched in 2009 as a way to connect the current and future leaders of Ingalls Shipbuilding.

Applications for the 2025 class are now open through August 15. With limited capacity in the program, individuals will be selected for Legacy Builders based on multiple qualifications, including performance and impact.

Over the course of a year, cohorts will expand their shipbuilding knowledge, develop new cross-functional relationships, and enhance their leadership skills that will help develop their careers in the company. The program also allows participants to learn through leadership forums and has an impact in the community through volunteer projects.

Through networking, the Legacy Builders program allows graduates to feel connected with a strong group of peers, grow as professionals, and expand their knowledge about our organization.
