Message from Donny Dorsey, Vice President, Operations and Manufacturing:
I am pleased to announce the following organizational realignment.
Last month, Terry Hayes, director, Coatings, retired after a successful 47-year career with Ingalls. Terry’s contributions in the areas of coatings, construction management, and ships management will be his legacy here for years to come.
As part of our effort to continuously refine and streamline our operations to improve the quality and finish of the ships we provide our customer, I am pleased to announce the realignment of several of our critical shipbuilding functions into the department of Construction Services and Ship Completion.
This organization will combine the legacy manufacturing services and coatings departments into a single function focused on providing these critical services to our ships. With a keen focus on customer support, product care, and protection and preservation, this department will be led by Willie Fairley.
Willie joined the company in 2004, as a carpenter apprentice and graduated in 2008, as Apprentice of the Year. Willie has held various leadership positions, including his latest position of director of Manufacturing Services. Additionally, Willie has served as a foreman, a general foreman and a general superintendent in Manufacturing Services.
Willie holds an Associate of Arts from Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of South Alabama.
Please join me in supporting Willie in his new role as director, Construction Services and Ship Completion.
