For more than 85 years, Ingalls shipbuilders have served as the backbone of our nation’s defense, building ships that project power, maintain peace and safeguard seas across the globe. We remain committed to this important work, knowing that THEIR mission is OUR purpose.

In the recent Inside Ingalls podcast released this week, Jack Norris, director, Government Affairs, reflected on how shipbuilders’ craftmanship is on display across the globe.

"Ingalls Ships in Action stories really connect and reinforce the ‘Their Mission. Our Purpose.’ campaign,” said Jack. “Those stories are a great way to remind all of us how critically important the work we do is to stability around the world.”

This was apparent earlier this month when the forward-deployed amphibious assault ship USS America (LHA 6) refueled by mooring pierside at Commander, Fleet Activities Sasebo’s (CFAS) Yokose Fuel Terminal. The refueling marked the first time an amphibious assault ship utilized the new fuel pier since its construction began in 2022.

LHA 6 is the lead ship of the America Amphibious Ready Group and is currently operating in the U.S. 7th Fleet area of operations, which is the largest of the U.S. Navy's forward-deployed fleets.

"I truly believe that what we do every day is a kind of generational call to service and we are delivering the advantage every day," said Jack, remarking on the vast scope of operations Ingalls ships are currently engaged in across the globe.

THEIR mission is OUR purpose.
