At Ingalls, we recognize the importance of mental health and are committed to supporting initiatives that promote care, understanding and prevention. Help drive awareness in the lives of children and adults by attending Emma Benoit's Journey of Hope and Healing, a presentation that encourages more open conversations about depression, anxiety and more.

WHAT: Emma Benoit’s Journey of Hope and Healing
WHEN: 6 p.m., Tuesday, January 21
WHERE: Pascagoula Performing Arts Center, located at 2104 Tucker Ave., Pascagoula, MS
REGISTRATION (not required, but encouraged): Emma Benoit's Journey of Hope and Healing | Singing River Health System

At 16 years old, varsity cheerleader Emma Benoit attempted to end her life, which resulted in a spinal cord injury that left her paralyzed. While navigating the challenges of recovery, she discovered purpose and passion in helping other struggling teens. Emma’s story is a testament to the strength of the human spirit and the importance of open conversations about mental health.

Hosted by the Singing River Foundation, shipbuilders are invited to attend this free presentation with their families to hear Emma’s powerful story of resilience and to learn how we can each play a role in fostering mental health awareness in our communities. After the event, children ages 12+ will have the opportunity to meet Emma to ask questions and connect.

This event, along with Hope Squad - a suicide prevention effort in local schools - are some of the many ways Ingalls supports programs that focus on overcoming mental health challenges. We are proud to work with our community partners to bring awareness to these efforts and make a difference in the lives of our shipbuilders and their loved ones.
